As the Fall weather moves to winter, the gorgeous fall colors come to an end just showing little glimpses of vibrancy peeking through the muted landscape. For me as an artist it never feels that there was enough time to create more fall color paintings on location. Feeling prompted to find bright colors and cheer us up, a vibrant bouquet of flowers is a great subject for me to paint. Here’s a beginning of some bright paintings with my favorite color red 🖍️A great color to work with during the holidays 😊

As the weather moves into spring and there is emer

As the weather moves into spring and there is emergence of tiny leaves and beautiful blooms, I am reflecting back on the winter trees and the unique landscape it had offered. The long trunks and the bare branches leaning, intertwining and creating a view of the houses and structures beyond it is extremely fascinating. I found this winter view a great opportunity to do some drawings and capture the beauty of North Carolina.

A beautiful snow day in Raleigh! It changed the look of the winter landscape completely highlighting the dark tree trunks and the subtle warm color of the leaves against the luminous white. The tree trunks standing tall and the branches in a dancing motion. The crisp and muted winter leaves suddenly started to glow against the black and white background. The snow on the leaves creating a pattern as if white paint has been splattered across. Chilly yet breathtaking bringing joy and a burst of inspiration for an artist like me 😊
